Although Rosemont is a community in the Chicago metropolitan area, the land area and population are relatively small and the population comparatively small. Allstate Arena is home to the Rosemont Bruisers of the American Hockey League (AHL) and the Chicago Blackhawks. When the Bruisers entered the league in 1988, it was Illinois State's first NCAA men's championship game.
